One to two lanes of Mound Road will be closed north of 14 Mile to M-59.
- Temporary widening of the median in both directions to allow for two lanes of traffic for Spring 2022 construction
- Tree removal within the median as part of temporary widening work
- Municipal water and sewer utility work
- Widening of the Mound Road bridges over Plumbrook Creek

The Innovate Mound project, located in the cities of Warren and Sterling Heights, Macomb County, will reconstruct approximately nine miles of Mound Road between 11 Mile Road and M-59 and add a fourth lane in each direction from 17 Mile Road to M-59. The project includes new pavement, drainage, curbs and driveways, signal optimization, roadway widening, connected vehicle and fiber optic communications technology, enhanced non-motorized facilities, and energy-efficient lighting.
When complete, Mound Road will look and feel like the state-of-the art technology corridor that it is.
