Innovate Mound Ombudsman, Jonathan Bailey
Jonathan Bailey is a senior field representative for HNTB and the dedicated ombudsman on the Innovate Mound project. Bailey has more than 21 years of industry experience, including five years with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and 16 with HNTB. Bailey has previous ombudsman experience working on the M-1 Rail project in Detroit. In this role, he served as the liaison between MDOT and M-1 and communicated daily with project stakeholders, donors, and community members/residents affected along the alignment. His fundamental contributions included communicating with the above parties on construction-related notices and handling concerns and sensitive issues related to sporting/entertainment venue event schedules, local business daily operations, private development along the alignment, adjacent local government project coordination, local residences, the Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade, City of Detroit Fireworks and weekday and weekend festivities within the downtown, Midtown and New Center areas.
As a field representative for HNTB, Bailey assisted with utility coordination and utility investigation tasks. Bailey also reviewed roadway plans at milestone project submittals and reviewed roadway and drainage construction for plan revisions and work orders. He is a family- and community-oriented individual. In his spare time, he actively coaches youth sports within his community.
