Typical Work Zone March-August
On March 3, northbound and southbound Mound traffic was shifted with two lanes maintained in each direction on the left lane and temporary pavement to begin reconstruction of the outside lanes. Mound Road traffic will remain in this configuration until mid-August of 2022.
Typical Work Zone August – November
In August, traffic will be shifted to the newly constructed outside lanes to allow for the reconstruction of the median lanes and crossovers.
February Virtual Event Kicks Off 2022 Construction
Innovate Mound is the transformational project to rebuild Mound Road from I-696 to M-59. Segment 1 construction from 15 1/2 Mile Road to M-59 will take place March through November 2022.
Virtual Meetings were held on Thursday, February 17, 2022, and the public was given several opportunities to pick up project materials at locations throughout Macomb County. The 401 event allowed residents, commuters, and users of Mound Road to learn about the 2022 project schedule, construction plans, and offered an opportunity to ask questions.

Local businesses are encouraged to download the “Open For Business During Construction” flyer and social media graphics to display at their brick-and-mortar location, as well as on their social media channels during the reconstruction of the Mound Road corridor. These materials will help ensure the public knows your business is open for business during construction.
